Plan the whole Seoul–Busan journey

If the preferred departure is unavailable
Keep the same date and passenger count when comparing nearby times, then check the reverse journey separately. Do not buy a ticket from a different station merely because the city label looks similar. Search results may be incomplete, outside the operator sales window or sold out; confirm the reason before changing your whole itinerary.
Arriving in Busan
Busan Station connects with the city’s Metro Line 1. A stay in Haeundae or another coastal district still needs onward transport. Compare the full station-to-hotel journey and local last-train times, especially for a late arrival. Read the Busan Station guide below before choosing your return train.
The Seoul–Busan corridor is a core rail journey in South Korea. KTX connects the two cities on the Gyeongbu corridor, making rail a practical option for a city-to-city itinerary. Plan around the stations and your selected departure rather than one advertised journey time.
Start with Seoul Station and Busan Station
For a central Seoul to central Busan KTX search, check Seoul Station as the origin and Busan Station as the destination. Suseo is a separate station; after the September 2026 integration, check its current KTX departures rather than relying on an old SRT-only description. Compare the trip from your accommodation to the departure station before choosing an offer.
Read each departure separately
Services can have different stopping patterns, so journey times vary. Use the duration and stops shown for the particular train you intend to take. Add time to reach Seoul Station and to travel from Busan Station to your accommodation; the train ride is only one part of the journey.
Check price and seat class
Search the travel date and passenger count, then compare available standard and first-class offers where shown. Check the full amount and currency at checkout. This guide does not quote a permanent lowest fare: the relevant price is the current offer for your selected train and passengers.
Book and prepare your ticket
Review the station names, date, train number and conditions before payment. KoreaTrain uses manual fulfilment; wait for the issued ticket to confirm your train and assigned seat. Keep that ticket available during travel and check the station departure board for the current platform.
Plan arrival and the return trip
Busan Station is a transport hub rather than the doorstep of every Busan attraction. Check the onward route to your hotel before arrival, especially if staying near the coast. For Busan to Seoul, make a separate search with the stations reversed and confirm the return date. Leave a sensible buffer before any onward flight or fixed appointment.
