Booking checklist
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Station names | Use the station on the selected departure, not just the city name. |
| Travel date | Use Korea local time (UTC+9); check the date again for late-night travel. |
| Passenger group | KoreaTrain currently supports one-way searches for one to four adults. |
| Confirmation | Keep the issued railway ticket; an order receipt alone is not a boarding ticket. |
Current official booking channels
For travel from 1 September 2026, the operators announced integrated high-speed services and booking through KORAIL+ and KORAIL channels. Older SRT-only booking advice may no longer apply. Check the current operator listing for your date, including Suseo departures. KoreaTrain is an independent booking service; integration does not mean that every operator departure is available through this website.
Luggage, children and accessibility
Before paying, check that every traveller and any assistance requirement fit the selected offer. The current KoreaTrain flow is for adults; do not enter a child as an adult to work around an unavailable passenger option. Check the railway operator for baggage allowances and accessible-seat arrangements. Keep bags clear of aisles and doors; do not rely on a guide image for the actual carriage layout.
KTX is Korea’s high-speed intercity train service. A useful booking starts with the right stations and travel date, then a comparison of available departures and seat classes. A city name alone is not enough: Seoul, Yongsan, Cheongnyangni and Suseo are different stations.
Choose the journey before the ticket
Write down your departure city, destination, date and passenger details. Search the actual stations shown for your route, and check both departure and arrival times. For a trip across midnight, make sure you are selecting the intended calendar date. Korean timetables use local Korea time.
Compare the complete offer
Check the train type, journey duration, seat class, passenger count and total payable amount together. A price shown for one search is not a fixed fare for every departure. Compare the same passenger group and currency, and read any service charges and cancellation terms before paying. If your plans are flexible, compare another departure time.
Understand booking and ticket confirmation
KORAIL’s official channels and station ticket offices are options for checking current rules. KoreaTrain uses a separate booking service with manual ticket fulfilment. A search result or payment confirmation does not itself guarantee a railway seat: wait for the issued ticket and check its details. The current KoreaTrain online flow supports one-way searches for one to four adults; check suitability before arranging travel with children or a larger group.
Prepare for boarding
Keep the issued ticket accessible and check the departure station, date, train number, carriage and seat where assigned. Use station departure displays to find the current platform; a platform in an old screenshot may have changed. Allow extra time at an unfamiliar station, particularly with luggage or when changing from the subway.
If plans change or trains are unavailable
Check the terms attached to the ticket you bought and contact the seller that issued it. Do not assume a general railway refund rule includes a third-party service fee. If a search has no result, try a nearby departure time and check the operator’s current sales calendar; an empty search does not explain whether a train is sold out, not yet released or temporarily unavailable.
